In this half-day workshop we'll make a reductive linoblock print in the tradition of atmospheric landscape — working in layers of gray from light to dark, cutting away the block between each pass through the press.

We'll talk about atmospheric perspective: how light behaves at distance, how the horizon dissolves, how less ink can say more than more. You'll leave with a small finished edition pulled on the monoprint press in the studio.

Cutting tools provided. If you have your own tools you're welcome to bring them — Speedball cutters are not recommended.

We'll read poems together, talk about how they work, and write. No experience necessary — only a willingness to put words on the page and read them aloud.

Each session focuses on a specific technique: image, line, sound, and revision. We'll spend as much time reading other poets as we will writing. The goal is not to produce finished work but to develop a practice.

This workshop is offered over zoom only.

A private printing session in a historic water tower in the village of Mendocino. Your group will learn the basics of linoblock printing and pull your own prints by hand on the press — each one a small edition made in this place, on this coast.

We'll work from a custom one-color design made specifically for your group. No experience necessary. Everyone leaves with one or two finished prints.

Good for family gatherings, retreats, celebrations, and anyone who wants to make something by hand while they're here.
